An overview of all advantages of your BKB credit card

You benefit from various insurance services when you pay with your gold (G) or silver (S) card.



Best Price Guarantee (Gold/Silver Card)

You have just bought a new TV and have seen it within 14 days for a better price elsewhere? If you paid for our purchase with your credit card, the difference will be reimbursed to you.

This applies for new products that:

  • were paid for with the credit card
  • were purchased in the Swiss retail or online market
  • are exactly the same (item number, manufacturer)
  • have a price difference of at least CHF 30.00.

Warranty Extension (Gold / Silver Card)

Did your vacuum cleaner die just after the warranty period expired? If you paid for it with your credit card, the warranty protection on your new appliance is automatically extended at no additional cost by 12 months

(Silver / Classic Card) or 24 months (Gold Card).

The same applies to new electronic devices:

  • for which 80% of the purchase price was paid with the credit card;
  • that were purchased from a dealer based in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg or Switzerland;
  • that are no more than 4 years old and were intended for personal use;
  • that have a product value of at least CHF 100.00.

Insurance on Purchases (Gold Card)

You were just enjoying your new digital camera, but then it dropped on the ground and broke? No problem, because purchases you made with the credit card are insured up to 30 days from date of purchase.

This applies for new products that:

  • were paid for with the credit card less than 30 days ago
  • were robbed, stolen, destroyed, or damaged
  • have a value of at least CHF 50.00.

Valuable trip cancellation and interruption insurance (Gold/Silver Card)

You have been looking forward to your trip, but just before your planned departure something happens to make it impossible for you to go? If you paid for at least 60% of your trip with the BKB credit card, you will have the travel or cancellation costs reimbursed to you.

Did you have to end your trip prematurely? Then the costs for the remainder of the travel arrangements and the early return transport will be assumed. The insurance covers the cardholders, partners (living in the same household), and children up to 25 years of age with no deductible.

The insurance enters into effect if at least one of the following circumstances occurs:

  • Serious illness, accident, or death (also of related persons)
  • Loss of job
  • Complications of pregnancy
  • Burglary or damage to house
  • Official travel warning
  • Natural catastrophes
  • Epidemics
  • Strikes
  • Theft of travel documents
  • Delay/failure of outbound travel

Medical Travel Assistance (Gold Card)

In case of a medical emergency while you are travelling abroad, the Travel Assistance will arrange for assistance around the clock.

In addition to the arrangement for assistance, covered services include assumption of costs for travel home, return transport or repatriation, including return travel of an accompanying traveller. The Medical Travel Assistance also covers the costs for transfer to a suitable hospital, as well as search, rescue, and recovery costs.

The insurance applies to cardholders, partners (living in the same household), and children living in the same household up to the age of 25 years, with no deductible.

The insurance becomes effective if the following requirements are met:

  • The trip involves personal travel with a maximum duration of 45 days and was booked and paid for after July 1, 2016.
  • Immediate contact with the insurer upon occurrence of an incident.

Baggage Delay Insurance (Gold Card)

Did your luggage not arrive with your flight? You can remain calm because if your luggage has not arrived within 4 hours of your arrival at your destination, the costs of indispensable clothing and toiletries will be assumed, if you paid for your trip with your credit card.

Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Baggage Insurance (Gold Card)

In the future you can start your trip with peace of mind. During conveyance by a public means of transport your baggage is automatically insured against theft, robbery, damage, destruction, or loss, if you paid for your trip with the credit card.

Rental Car Deductible Insurance (Gold Card)

Have you ever stood at the rental car counter and been annoyed at the many different insurances that are offered? If you pay for your car rental with your credit card, you will never have to purchase additional insurance to cover the deductible in case of a claim. Because with the rental car deductible insurance on your Gold Card you are automatically protected.
