Summerblues Basel, s Glaibasler Bluesfescht

It is Friday evening before the summer holidays and blues fans know what that means: It’s Summerblues time – time for more than 40 hours of free live blues music for everyone.

For one long summer evening, the “Glaibasler Bluesfescht”, which was established in 2009, transforms the Lesser Basel district between Claraplatz and Wettsteinplatz into a blues festival ground - with free entry to all the concerts!
Six open-air stages with no less than 16 regional and international blues performers and a street band which performs its music through the streets, ensure a unique atmosphere, for which blues fans pilgrimage to the elbow of the Rhine on “Biindelidaag”, the Friday evening before the Basel school summer holidays. At each of the six “Summerblues” venues and along the way, a huge range of carnival booths, bars, pubs and free refreshment stands offer culinary delicacies and cool drinks.

The Basler Kantonalbank supports the Summerblues as the co-sponsor plus.
