Exemplary Paper Sourcing at BKB and the Bank Coop
Based on the results of a survey by the WWF among the 56 largest Swiss companies in the banking, insurance, and telecommunications industries, only the Alternative Bank of Switzerland, the Bank Coop, and the Basler Kantonalbank implemented exemplary measures for reduction of harm to the environment in their sourcing of paper.
These three banks would have reduced environmental pollution by 60 to 70 percent compared to conventional sourcing of paper.
According to WWF, they use as much recycled paper as possible and when they do need to use virgin fiber paper, they use FSC certified paper bearing the seal of the Forest Stewardship Council.
